How company taxation compares: Germany vs Cyprus
Illustrative example, not a forecast. A German GmbH with one shareholder that distributes all its profit pays about 30% at company level (15% corporate tax plus solidarity surcharge, and trade tax at a 400% municipal rate). The shareholder then pays 26.375% on the dividend, for a combined burden of about 48%. A Cyprus company pays 15% corporate tax. Your estimated Cyprus tax on this scenario, based on the figures and assumptions you enter. This is an illustration, not tax advice. This difference is only available if you genuinely move your tax residence to Cyprus and the company is really managed and controlled from Cyprus. German exit taxation (§ 6 AStG) on shareholdings, the German controlled foreign company rules, place-of-effective-management rules and your individual circumstances can reduce or remove it. This is general information, not tax advice; get advice from a qualified tax adviser in both countries before you act.
